all four photos show the fear of confinement. mirror was used to create the distortion. I only showed part of the limbs, the tape around the ankle allows people to imagine what is happening in the situations. The scissors represent the freedom, but even though that pair of scissors are attainable, and it seems that i can reach it to free myself from the restriction, but I am not able to reach it. The conflict also exists in everyone's daily life...

I took the photos in the art studio while waiting in line to start my painting photography project. This is my first time trying to take photography of myself. I used the stand and set the timer. I found it quite interesting to be in my own photos.

Window symbnolizes the way toward freedom and the unknown world. And I hope my audience can see this concept that i am trying to convey through the photography i took

I think I will do one of these paintings for my project, because I love the softness of the woman figure and the light on the face of the women. There is a calm feeling on the facial expression, which i found extremely beautiful

i I washed my blanket this Sunday, and I shaped the blanket into different patterns which look like the mountains rivers and canyons.

polar opposite (the dying prawns)

I took two pictures of the prawn before putting into the pot and after putting into the pot. The opposite component is the color of the background, one is bright red and another is white. I also arrange the three prawns into a pattern that is similar to the symbol of Yin and Yan to represent the chinese philosophy. The color of the prawns after being put into the pot turns out to be very different than I originally expected. When taking a deeper look at the red background, it really looks like the huamn blood. Even though it is a common knowledge that prawns do not bleed, but in Chinese, there is a saying to represent who is struggling with life, which is "in between of the fire and water". The two photos were taken before and after the prawns were putting into the pot, you can see that in the first picture, the prawns are still raw. Therefore my intention for this project is to show the suffer and struggle.
