polar opposite (the dying prawns)
I took two pictures of the prawn before putting into the pot and after putting into the pot. The opposite component is the color of the background, one is bright red and another is white. I also arrange the three prawns into a pattern that is similar to the symbol of Yin and Yan to represent the chinese philosophy. The color of the prawns after being put into the pot turns out to be very different than I originally expected. When taking a deeper look at the red background, it really looks like the huamn blood. Even though it is a common knowledge that prawns do not bleed, but in Chinese, there is a saying to represent who is struggling with life, which is "in between of the fire and water". The two photos were taken before and after the prawns were putting into the pot, you can see that in the first picture, the prawns are still raw. Therefore my intention for this project is to show the suffer and struggle.

Honestly, your written word really brings these images to life. I'd love to see a series you both illustrate and verbally describe. This assignment took on a whole new appeal to me after reading how you approached the visual - and the unexpected changes.
